Data Sets and

Beating Hearts

The stats & stories from inside your team

Welcome to the latest edition of Data Sets and Beating Hearts. It’s a hugely exciting week for us as we take a step into the future when we participate in the Digital Swiss Five, our first-ever E-race.

We are thrilled to finally be back doing what we love – racing - albeit in the virtual world. It is a privilege to be part of a sport which despite the scale of adversity the world finds itself in, is able to adapt and evolve, allowing us the opportunity to still do what we love.

What’s even more exciting is that the race will be broadcast globally, and be seen live across Africa with our partner SuperSport, one of very few sports that has this opportunity, and so we hope to do you all proud. It’s uncharted waters for all of us but hugely exciting too, so we look forward to sharing this piece of history with you.

We thank you for your continued support. I hope you and your loved ones are well.

We are proud to introduce our first ever E-racing squad, set to take on the Digital Swiss 5 between 22-26 April. The DS5 is a series of five virtual races, taking place over parts of the 2020 Tour de Suisse parcours. Catch all the action in Africa live on SuperSport S1.

Team Line-up

It’s going to be exciting taking on the Tour de Suisse route in this virtual format of Digital Swiss 5. It’s a great initiative to show off our sponsors who continue to support us during this difficult time of the Corona Virus. It will be interesting to see what our shape is like compared to the riders on other teams. It is a whole new type of racing for me and everyone else, so I’m nervous about how hard it actually will be but also excited.

It’s something beautiful and it bubbles with energy, emotions and memories.

Perspective: By Michael Rogers

Meet the team: Yvonne Houweling 💙

Role in team: Carer. I enjoy it a lot, because I like working directly with the riders, and getting the best out of them.

Duration with the team: I started in 2013 in the year when Ciolek won Milan San Remo.

Best moment, so far: It was when Giacomo Nizzolo won stage five at the Tour Down Under this year. It was special because we did not win much in the previous year. And beautiful because you saw a TEAM around Nizzolo on the last climb, which set him up for the win. Giacomo deserved it after so much hard work. But the team effort was amazing to see and to also feel that day...from start to finish.

BMC: Paris - Roubaix testing

What is the best equipment to use for cobbled classics like Paris-Roubaix? Only one way to find out... massive thanks to BMC Switzerland and all our other incredible partners.
